Year 5 and 6 trip to the STEAM museum

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic trip to the STEAM museum of the Great Western Railway, for their World War 2 memorable experience.

The children took part in two interactive workshops: The role of Women in the Second World War and The role of the Railways in World War 2. Children were able to handle artefacts and find out what life was like for ordinary working people and children in the 1940s. There was also time to explore the museum and find out more about this historical Grade II railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works. Have a look at some of the photos of the day.
