Year 3 and 4 Visit to Woodstock Museum

Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful time at the Soldiers of Oxford museum in Woodstock on Tuesday. We saw the full size modern replica of the Bayeux Tapestry which is made from millions of small pieces of metal and took 15 years to complete! Children worked in groups to explore the tapestry as well as having a go at some arts and crafts, decorating their own shields. Children also enjoyed exploring the artefacts from the First and Second World Wars. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and had our snacks outside and ran about in the dinosaur garden. This has been a fitting way to complete our History unit learning about the Anglo Saxons and the Battle of Hastings.
