Year 3 and 4 visit Christ Church Cathedral

We visited Oxford’s famous cathedral today as part of our History topic learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We enjoyed a guided tour around the College and Cathedral, including the famous great hall that was used in the Harry Potter films.

Children had opportunities to hold Anglo-Saxon artefacts and dress up as Anglo-Saxons. We also learnt about the story of the Patron Saint of Oxford, Saint Frideswide who was an Anglo-Saxon princess and whose remains are believed to be buried underneath the Cathedral. Here are some photos of our day.
