We have had a wonderful day at Blenheim Palace as part of our memorable experience for our World War One history topic.
We learnt how the 9th Duke of Marlborough converted the palace into a hospital for convalescing soldiers who had been injured on the battle front. During the guided tour, we listened to tales from the palace and the children had plenty of opportunities to ask lots of questions as we walked around the magnificent rooms.
We are all now ready to learn more about the part that people back at home, including rich and poor, women and children played to support the war effort.
Here are some photos of our day.
