For 2 weeks leading up to the Easter break, Year 3 and 4 worked hard to prepare an Easter Liturgy for the school. They learnt new songs, practised lines and worked on tableaus depicting Holy Week events. The performance was called Roll Back the Stone and told the story of the last week of Jesus’ life, leading up to the sorrow of his crucifixion and then the wonder of the Resurrection 3 days later. The Liturgy was a thoughtful reflection on Holy Week, but also a joyous celebration of the gifts and talents of our wonderful year 3 and 4 pupils. Those that attended either the dress rehearsal or the two shows to parents on Wednesday 28th March were struck by the reflective and prayerful interpretation of these important events and also the quality of the children’s performances, especially their singing. Well done to all involved, it was a fitting way to end our time in school for Holy Week.
