Year 2 have been learning about the history of the Great Fire of London. As part of our learning we researched what houses were made of during that time. We found out that the houses caught fire quickly because of the materials they were made from and that they were built close together. In DT we made our own tudor houses using a range of materials. We sketched our designs and investigated different materials to see which would be suitable to build a strong structure. We made hinges for the doors and windows and used straw and hessian for the roofs. We worked really well in groups and are very proud of our houses.
